Hope you are all getting excited! There are wonderful things happening behind the scenes here in the studio. I cannot wait to share them with you! Coming soon!

Hello and welcome to Take Heart Studio. Originally formed as an outlet while on the journey through grief, this site is dedicated to those who love art, who make art, and everything in between.

A native Hawaiian raised in the waters of the Puget Sound. A world traveler and mini schnauzer mama forever. I've worked in film and even found success on social media. As of late, I have gone back to my artsy roots like my late mama always hoped.

My work is heavily influenced by my life spent between the big island of Hawaii and the PNW. I am absolutely drawn to things that sparkle and bold jewel tone colors, which are reflected in my work.

I have fond memories of my mom with her hair held up in a bun with paintbrushes as she worked. Ssometimes she'd accidentally drink from her paint water glass instead of her coffee mug. Other times I swear there was more paint on her than her canvas. And now as life would have it, that silly woman is me.

Whipped up this piece for my cousin. He's the biggest Deadhead I know. (That's a Grateful Dead reference. What's the age demographic here?)
Listen to the music maaaan!

If you're like me and missing your pet this Christmas, this is for you! This piece is in memory of all of our sweet friends who have crossed the Rainbow Bridge. This is what I am certain that Heaven looks like.

My newest piece inspired by the Giant Pacific Octopus and my own personal love for those gentle giants. The title is inspired by the discovery that some people really like octopuses and others strongly do not. Where do you stand?

Kandi bracelets that is! From Taylor Swift inspired friendship bracelets to your zodiac sign! Available in the shop. Show off your inner Magical Girl, baby!

Inspired by the gorgeous shots from space, I have big plans for this one. Maybe a constellation or two the possibilities are as big as the Universe!
Or I end up slapping a humuhumunukunukuāpuaʻa on it. Who knows?

A certain someone in my life informed me that it looks like an upside down giant lime flavored gummy bear holding an AK-47. And while I'm so proud they were trying to find their inner artist... I just can't see it.

I miss you everyday sweet dog, but through my grief I have found so much healing in art.
You are always with me and I am so grateful.
In my heart and in my art, always.
